I remember making my first green smoothie. I was excited about venturing away from my old standby – Strawberry Banana, plus I had been hearing a lot of buzz in the health community about the antioxidant power of green smoothies. The recipe included a bunch of kale, orange slices, some ginger and a glass or so of water. And it was TERRIBLE! It tasted like water mixed with grass clippings. I could barely swallow the first sip. Needless to say, this concoction, although full of health-supportive nutrients, went in the trash. And I felt bad about that…..
But my food philosophy is that food should taste good, nourish the body and preserve health. So I did a bit of research and combined the best ingredients from a few different green smoothie recipes to come up with a recipe that made my taste buds sing. Here is my very simple and delicious clean, green smoothie recipe:
Green Energy Smoothie Recipe
Two handfuls of spinach
10 frozen whole strawberries
1 gala apple, peeled and sliced
1 cup vanilla soy milk or almond milk
1 scoop vanilla-flavor protein powder
3 ice cubes
Gradually add all ingredients to the jar of a blender; puree until smooth. Serve.

Just love the recipe! Any chance i can use it on my site – with a link of course!! The recipe would go under http://smoothiepassion.com/smoothie-recipes/ Keep up the great work, Brett xx
